Event Management

An event is a project with an immovable deadline and an audience watching. I plan, budget and run events from the first idea to the final clear-up (festivals, awards nights, launches and corporate days), so it goes off well and you’re not the one firefighting on the night.

Where I come in

  • Concept and planning. Turning “we should put on an event” into a proper plan with a budget, a timeline and a run of show.
  • Budgets that hold. Costing the whole thing realistically and keeping it on track, so there are no nasty surprises afterwards.
  • Suppliers and logistics. Sourcing and coordinating venues, staging, sound, catering, licensing and everyone else, and making sure it all turns up and works.
  • Promotion and ticketing. Getting the right people through the door, with the marketing, ticketing and sign-ups handled.
  • On-the-day delivery. Running the event on the ground so it flows, with a calm hand when something inevitably needs sorting.
  • Awards and ceremonies. The particular choreography of an awards night: categories, judging, hosting and the running order.

How I work

I’ve run real events, not just planned them on paper. For the last two years I’ve been the lead organiser of Manorfest, a free community music festival (staging, sound, suppliers, licensing, promotion and the hundred things that happen on the day), and back in 2021 I organised and ran an awards ceremony from the ground up. I also sit on my town council’s events committee. So I know what actually goes into making an event feel effortless to everyone who turns up.

Whether it’s a festival, a launch, a conference or an awards night, I can take the whole thing off your hands or work alongside your team on the parts that matter most. Either way the aim is the same: an event that runs smoothly and does its job, without you spending the day putting out fires.

Common questions

What kinds of events do you handle?

A broad range: community festivals, awards ceremonies, product and business launches, conferences and corporate days. The underlying discipline (plan, budget, coordinate, deliver) travels across all of them; the details change with the occasion.

Can you run the whole event, or just help with parts?

Either. Some clients hand the entire thing over from concept to clear-up; others have a team and want me to take on the planning, the supplier coordination, or simply a steady hand on the day. We’ll scope it to what you need.

Do you handle the logistics like licensing and suppliers?

Yes, that’s the heart of it. Venues, staging, sound, catering, ticketing and the licences an event needs are exactly the moving parts I coordinate, so they’re handled properly rather than left to chance.
